MGA Update

We have continued to monitor guidelines and best practices for gathering in a safe way. After much prayer and consultation we are excited to re-open. We are confident, along with your help, we will be able to provide an environment that meets government recommendations for safety. Our Sunday worship service has been redesigned to allow for physical distancing.  Let’s work together to stay healthy.

What We’re Doing:

  • We will limit the need for touchable surfaces as much as possible and all high-volume areas will be thoroughly sanitized between services as well as during.
  • We are limiting the number of people we can safely accommodate. We will be using Eventbrite to provide tickets to attend.  You will see a posting on social media each week on Thursdays with the link.
  • Additional hand-sanitizing stations have been placed throughout the building.
  • No coffee stations will be open or usable.
  • No offering buckets will be passed. Instead, there will be an area in the lobby of the building for those who want to give.
  • All seatback materials, papers, and pens will be removed.
  • Cleaning supplies will be available in each bathroom stall.  As well as monitored throughout the service.
  • We will maintain physical distancing of 2m (6 ft) or wear a mask.

How You Can Help:

  • Please wash your hands and use hand sanitizer often.
  • Maintain a distance of 2m (6 ft) between yourself and other guests.
  • If you are 65 years or older or have a pre-existing condition, please make the best choice for you.
  • Arrive early with your Eventbrite Ticket (paper or digital).
  • Allow us to help you through the process of getting to your seat. Our Host Team will be there to greet you and assist you with whatever you may need (ie. a drink of water, answering questions).
  • Giving stations will be set up in the lobby for you to use if you require Debit or Credit.  Cash or Cheques in envelopes can be directly deposited into the giving box.
  • We ask you to sing quietly or to use a mask as recommended.
  • There will be no children’s ministry available due to the damage from the flood.  Children will need to remain with their parents at all times.

What To Consider:

  • You cannot attend if:
    • You or anyone in your cohort family has travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days.
    • You have had contact with anyone testing positive in the last 14 days.
    • If you have any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose or shortness of breath.

We encourage you to continue attending MGA.  If you don’t feel well, have health concerns or just not ready to attend church at a physical location, please stay home and join us on FB @mcmurraygospelassembly or on YouTube at MGA Fort McMurray.  You are a part of MGA no matter if you join us in person or online.  We are here to support you and journey this life together.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
